  1. Dear All, I would like to take this moment to thank all who came this year to the Falklands Liberation Day Wreath Laying Ceremony here in Chorley Lancashire. Despite the weather looking as though it was going to blow the proceedings away, in the end the sun shone on the righteous. Ours is a small ceremony with a loyal following, for which I am extremely grateful too, for their help and support in keeping this ceremony going. I can only hope that more Veterans, Comrades and Friends choose to support this opportunity to commemorate those who fell and not just during the war, but those who continue to suffer still. This Ceremony will continue to be held on the 14th June each year at 11.00. I look forward to seeing you in the future. Iddy
  2. Just a reminder that this event is tomorrow, look forward to seeing you there. If nothing else you get to see Iddy in a Blazer with a shirt & tie. Iddy

  4. Dear All, I would like to take this moment to thank all who came this year to the Falklands Liberation Day Wreath Laying Ceremony here in Chorley Lancashire. Despite the weather looking as though it was going to dampen the proceedings, in the end the sun shone on the righteous. Ours is a small ceremony with a loyal following, for which I am extremely grateful too, for their help and support in resurrecting this ceremony. I can only hope that more Veterans, Comrades and Friends choose to support this opportunity to commemorate those who fell and not just during the war, but those who continue to suffer still. This Ceremony will continue to be held on the 14th June each year at 11.00. I look forward to seeing you in the future. Iddy PS I would have included a photo but I have no Idea how to upload a photo from today's event.

  6. After last years wreath laying at the Falkland Memorial stone in Ashley Park, Park Road, Chorley Lancashire PR7 1QN. We will be continuing from now on to hold it annually on the 14th June at 11.00 to mark Liberation Day. Again this is a big ask as this year it falls on a Tuesday. People are asked to attend from approx 10.30 with the service starting at 10.50 All are welcome, Again I expect it to be a small gathering and will be letting members of the Riders Branch of the RBL know, Martin Kevill's family have been invited as have the local Veterans Association and it would be nice to have some members of SAMA82 present. I can't promise a hotpot dinner after but we may retire to a local hostelry to raise a toast to our fallen comrades. I Look forward to seeing you there if you can make it. From the Sea, Freedom. Iddy

  8. Chorleys Annual Falklands Parade 2015

Many Thanks to those who turned up to this years Wreath Laying Ceremony. Thanks to the RBLR for their continued support, and Steve Garth for laying the SAMA82 Wreath. Also in attendance was Martin Kevill's Niece who laid a wreath on his behalf. A small gathering, but from small acorns grow mighty oaks. Next years Ceremony will be on Tuesday 14th June 2016 for those who wish to attend.

  13. Chorley Falklands Parade

It will be great to see everyone again, I know the RBL Riders are looking forward to attending the parade as are the local Legions
  14. I recieved the date for this years parade in Chorley Lancashire. The Annual Falklands Parade is on the 22nd April this year, form up will be at 11.30am on St Thomas's Road, 12.00am march to the Cenotaph in Astley Park, short service and then march back to the TA centre on Devonshire Road for dismissal and refreshments. It's a similar format to previous years and a great chance to catch up with people. For those that don't know the stone that is dedicated primarily to the Welsh Guards. Hope to see you all there,
  15. The Royal British Legion Riders will also be on parade.
